There are lots of Porsche tuners out there tinkering with 911s, but it takes a specific kind of assemblage to work up the force to let loose on a six- or seven-conformation supercar. Edo Contest manages to do it again and again, and after squeezing more sap out of already high-strung exotics cognate the Maserati MC12, Ferrari 599 GTB and Porsche Carrera GT, the Full tuner has turned its notice to the Audi R8.
By fitting a freer-running, lightweight drain system, Edo has managed to wheedle an extra 22 horses out of the immovable, boosting output from the 4.2-liter FSI V8 to 442hp while trimming 18 lbs off the car’s ponderousness in the process. Buyers can detail a loud empty or a really noisy exhaust, along with their selection of 19 or 20 inch forged rims. Edo has also crafted a set of carbon fiber aero bits, including a front chin pillager, rear diffuser and - this is the good in the highest degree part - an eight-piece set of inserts for the background bumper.
The originate? Running to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill is cut by 0.2 of a next to the first, down to 4.5 from the flag 4.7 seconds. Assured, that isn’t a dramatic be augmented in performance, but it’ll apparently make you smile a small wider when you twitch away from that tricked-out 911 at the medium of vision.
