Depending on the tires, one can use the ATV for many purposes. Since the ATV is designed for off-course use, such as on sand, sand, mud or snow, much depends on the mark of tires one uses in an ATV.

When first launched in 1981, the ATVs had balloon tires. Today, a of the whole ATV tire is weighty, with deep treads and a low compressing (less than 10 pounds per quadrilateral and equiangular inch [PSI]). This helps the tires get a more excellent grip on the passage, and therefore helps in navigating terrain resembling forests and wetlands.

There are two basic types of fatigue construction: leaning-ply and radial designs. Predisposition-ply tires are made of textile cords, parallel nylon and sometimes Kevlar. Radial tires are made of gum-elastic-coated reinforced-carburet of iron cable belts.
